Geological hikes: the three stories hidden in the landscape of Lac d'Arvouin

- Fun and educational workshop: Join us for an interactive workshop to build a simplified geological cross-section of the region. Learn how mountains were formed.
- Observe glacial evidence: Admire the traces left by glaciers and wonder about the origins of today's landscape. An enriching visual and intellectual experience for young and old alike.
- An educational and entertaining adventure: This hike is ideal for families, nature lovers and geology enthusiasts. Come and awaken your scientific spirit while enjoying a day in the great outdoors, in the unique setting of the UNESCO Chablais Geopark, guided by two passionate and exciting geologists.

Distance and elevation gain
- 6 km, 250 m D+ (to Col d'Arvouin). Mainly gently sloping forest road, but also 500 m of mountain trail with 100 m ascent.

Free of charge. Registration required at the Abondance Tourist Information Office.

Plan ahead:
- Individual picnic in backpack.
- Min. 1.5 liters of water/pers.
- Comfortable walking shoes.
- Clothing suited to the hike and the day's weather (sun, wind, cold, rain).
- Walking sticks recommended.
- Optional equipment: 10x field magnifier, compass, geological hammer.
